Bespoke Solution
Development
AI-powered development delivers a perfect-fit solution for your business — faster, cheaper, and better than off-the-shelf alternatives.
The challenge
Your business deserves
better software
You need a system to enhance your business — whether that's a new revenue opportunity, smoothing out inefficiencies, replacing an aging legacy solution, or accessing integrations.
Off-the-shelf solutions force you to bend your processes to fit their rigid structure. Traditional bespoke development is slow and expensive. There has to be a better way....
Off-the-shelf problems
- Rigid — bend your business to fit
- Hidden costs that escalate over time
- Shared databases with other companies
- Slow to evolve, long waits for features
- Changes imposed that don't suit you

Who we build for
Industries & scenarios where
bespoke wins
Every business has processes that make it unique, and it is often those processes that differentiate you from the competition. Off-the-shelf software may not accommodate what makes you unique, so you compromise, working around limitations rather than using technology to underwrite what makes you special.
We build bespoke solutions for small and medium-sized businesses across a wide range of sectors. For example, we work with logistics and distribution companies that need bespoke scheduling, route planning and warehouse management, and with training providers that have unique data handling and reporting requirements. In each case the common theme is the business has outgrown spreadsheets and generic tools, and needs software that supports their processes rather than constraining them.
Financial services firms need auditable transaction processing workflows that match their exact regulatory obligations. Insurance businesses that need to issue quotes through complex binders, E-commerce companies need fliexible product catalogues and fulfilment systems tailored to the way they actually operate. Professional services firms need case and client management tools that reflect the nuances of their practise.
Common triggers for going bespoke
Most of our clients reach out when they recognise one or more of these situations: critical business data is scattered across spreadsheets that only a few people understand; staff are spending hours on manual workarounds because existing tools do not fit or data doesn't flow; customer service is suffering because information is hard to find; growth is being held back because systems cannot scale or adapt quickly enough. If any of these sound familiar, a bespoke solution is almost certainly the right choice.
The AI revolution
Bespoke is now
within reach
You need systems to keep your business running smoothly, your processes followed, rules enforced, your data managed. Bespoke solutions have always been the best way to achieve this because they work the way you do, it’s just that they used to be difficult and costly to get right.
Now AI has fundamentally revolutionised programming, taking over the laborious task of coding, and has matured to the point that building software is now quick, easy and accurate, so the barriers keeping you from your ideal solution have finally been removed.
Making the right choice
Bespoke vs off-the-shelf:
an honest comparison
The debate between which is better, bespoke software or off-the-shelf software, has shifted dramatically since AI automated the act of programming. Understanding both sides of the argument helps you make a confident decision.
Where off-the-shelf can still make sense
If your needs are truly generic — basic data handling, standard workflows, consistent documents — then established SaaS products are a sensible choice. They serve millions of users and their feature sets are mature. There is no point building a custom tools and databases that are no different to what's already out there.
If you need a solution you can use today, or this week, then even with an accellerated AI development process, if you can find and evaluate an off-the-shelf solution quickly, and it fits precisely what you need, it could be up and running sooner than we can build something for you.
Where bespoke is the clear winner
The moment your requirements deviate from the mainstream, the equation flips. Off-the-shelf tools force you to adapt your processes to their design or you end up abusing their features to get a capability you need. Once you accept these limitations you end up compromising your operations and the pain flows from there on.
Is off-the-shelf cheaper?
In short, probably not any more. Since the advent of AI-powered development, implementation costs have reduced by at least 75% compared to traditional methods, meaning the total cost of ownership for a bespoke system is now typically lower than the equivalent SaaS subscription over a three to five year period. This is even more so if you are a UK business and can claim R&D tax credits, significantly reducing your initial investment.
The hidden costs of off-the-shelf
Businesses often underestimate the true cost of SaaS. Per-seat licences increase as your business grows. Customisation within the platform — if available at all — often requires expensive consultants. Integration with other systems can be limited, requiring middleware or manual data transfers, incurring further costs. Training costs increase because users must learn to work around the software's limitations rather than with a system designed for them. And migration costs, when you eventually outgrow the platform, can be substantial. When you add all of these up, the perceived cost advantage of off-the-shelf frequently disappears. This benefit can be even greater if you are a UK business and claim R&D tax credits.
How we deliver
Our development process
From initial conversation to ongoing support, our prototype-led process ensures you get exactly what your business needs — with complete visibility every step of the way.
Introduction
Here we have an initial chat to understand the scope of what you are looking to achieve and why.
We look to understand your timescales, budget and existing solutions and based on this we will provide an initial view of costs and time required to confirm feasibility.
Detailed Requirements
We spend time with you and your team to understand what you need in detail.
The goal is to get enough information to produce an initial prototype of the proposed system. This doesn’t have to be exhaustive — that level of detail can follow later.
Initial Prototype
Using AI we generate HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create a prototype that runs in your browser and looks a lot like the proposed solution.
This gives us a solid tangible basis for further discussions and helps stakeholders visualise and align on what we are all talking about.
Prototype Review
We work through the initial prototype with each stakeholder to flush out misunderstandings and build more detail.
Having something tangible to look at really helps users engage with the process and generally stimulates more constructive coverage of what is needed.
Full Prototype
We generate a prototype that is an accurate facsimile of the finished product. When users see it, they will probably believe it is a full blown system.
The aim is to generate something so close to the finished product that it can become the contractual specification for the build.
Refinement
Now is the perfect time to specify features exactly as they should be. It’s so quick and easy to change things at this stage that we encourage maximum stakeholder engagement.
We iterate over the prototype stages until everybody is satisfied. Because the cost is so low you can encourage people to be creative without fear of blowing your budget.
Solution Development
The finished prototype guides AI-driven development of the finished product, with minimal customer involvement other than to confirm progress.
This process takes around 10–25% of the time taken in a traditional development process while producing far fewer bugs.
Delivery
The final system is handed over for acceptance testing and user training. We fix any bugs you find.
We put the new system live, importing data from existing systems if required. We have been through this many times and will do everything we can to make it smooth and stress-free.
Support & Maintenance
We continue to be there for you, smoothing out initial issues and progressing to business as usual.
AI means we can fix bugs and make enhancements rapidly, ensuring your system supports your future growth rather than constraining it.
Investment & timelines
What to expect in
cost and time
One of the most common questions we hear is "how much does bespoke software cost?" The answer depends on the size and complexityof what you need, but AI-powered development has made the numbers far more palatable than they used to be.
Typical investment ranges
A focused single-purpose application — for example a client portal, an internal order processing system, or a data dashboard — typically falls in the range of £2,500 to £20,000. A more comprehensive business system covering multiple departments or processes, with integrations, reporting and user management, usually sits between £15,000 and £40,000. Enterprise platforms with complex logic, large data volumes and advanced features can range from £30,000 upward, though these indicative values still represent a fraction of what the same build would have cost using traditional programming methods.
These figures would have been four to ten times higher before AI-powered development. The speed at which AI generates, tests and iterates code means you get more for less, without compromising on quality.
Timeline expectations
Our prototype-led process means you see tangible progress almost immediately. An initial prototype is typically ready soon after we talk usually a day or two. The full prototype, which serves as the contractual specification for the build, usually follows within two to four weeks depending on complexity. The build itself takes between two and eight weeks for most projects, with delivery and go-live support adding another one to two weeks.
End to end, most projects are completed from a month to four months — a timeline that would have been perhaps twelve to eighteen months using traditional development approaches. That speed is not just about convenience; it means your business starts benefiting from the new system sooner, and the demands placed on your team during the project are kept to a minimum.
We provide a detailed cost estimate after the initial prototype stage, once both parties have a clear picture of what the finished system will look like. There are no surprises because the prototype effectively becomes the specification — you approve what you see before the build begins.
